Questions & Answers Q: My skimmer was working fine when I installed it, but I'm getting big bubbles all of sudden, what's going on? |
| A: This is the result of a change in the surface tension of the water. Doing any type of maintenance, such as churning up sand can change the surface tension of the water and thereby cause the skimmer to change in performance. Once the levels return to normal, so does the skimmer. Typically in less than a few hours. You do not need to tamper with the adjustment setting. Re-adjusting the skimmer may inhibit it from returning to normal function. |
| Q: I just set up a new tank and the skimmer is taking out really dark but wet skimmate at the lowest setting, is it going to continue at this rate? |
| A: Only for as long as it takes to remove the naughty substance that causes that skimmate to be wet. Typically no more than 72 hours. |
| Q: I am concerned that I have a problem with my Bermuda BPS3C. My water level is set right above the word Bermuda and I have noticed for the last week I have only produced well not even enough foam to raise above the black line of the emblem. The skimmer was purchased and installed in February of this year, and I clean the collection cup, tubing on a weekly basis. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

A:
1) check for an obstruction in the pump (particularly
the impeller) |
| RESONSE: Thank you so much for your advice. Upon taking the pump apart I found a snail shell lodged in the intake elbow. |
